Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability
2.1 General info, not legal advice
This site gives helpful general information. It’s not tailored legal advice for your situation.
2.2 Links ≠ endorsements
We sometimes link to other sites because they’re useful. Their content is their responsibility, not ours.
2.3 No blame game
To the fullest extent permitted by law, MAC Legal isn’t liable for loss, damage, or costs arising from:

Online Tools & Questionnaires
3.1 Handy, but not advice (yet)
Our questionnaires offer general guidance. Completing one doesn’t make us your lawyers.
3.2 Be accurate
Provide complete and correct information. After you submit, you can’t edit online — if something changes, contact us.
3.3 When we’re officially your lawyers
We act for you only once we’ve sent an engagement letter confirming we’re in. We may need to decline instructions if required under the Lawyers and Conveyancers Act (Lawyers: Conduct and Client Care) Rules 2008.
3.4 Password safety
If you create an account, keep your password secret. Think it’s compromised? Change it or contact us immediately.
Why do we sometimes say no?
Conflicts of interest or professional rules can require us to decline. We’ll let you know and, where appropriate, suggest next steps.
Privacy
4.1 What we collect
When you interact with us (forms, questionnaires, emails), we may collect personal information.
4.2 How we use it
- to provide services or info you’ve requested;
- to send updates or invitations (if you opt in);
- to provide legal services if you engage us.
We may obtain or share information where reasonably necessary to provide services, run credit checks, or recover debts. Otherwise, we keep your information confidential unless you authorise disclosure or we’re required by law or professional rules.
4.3 Access & correction
You can access and correct your personal information under the Privacy Act 2020 — just get in touch.
4.4 Anonymous website stats
We collect technical info (IP address, browser type, usage) to improve the site. This doesn’t identify you personally.
